Drone In Nepal, Rules and Laws to be Followed

Drones, which are also known as Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs), Miniature Pilotless Aircraft or Flying Mini Robots. These are gaining popularity among the people with time. At first, it was developed and used by Military for warfare as UAV. Later and now it has become an awesome gadget. Drones are used for videography, wildlife conservations, Disaster response, agriculture and many more. Though these are popular with professional aerial cinematographers. Drones are controlled by remotes and for some drones by software applications from mobilephones (WiFi phone control). They capture huge area from a certain height. We can see how the popularity of drone in Nepal has raised.

Is Drone legal in Nepal?

According to Nepal’s National Aviation Authority, the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN), flying a drone in Nepal is legal. But they recommend to be aware of with the rules and regulations of the drones. Basically, it is illegal to operate a drone in Nepal. But with official papers and permit one can easily fly a drone.

All small, medium and large drone operators need to get an Unmanned Aircraft Operator Permit to be able to fly drone. No any drone is allowed to fly without mandatory equipments. Equipments like GPS system, return-to-home system, anti-collision light, flight data logging system and radio frequency identification.

General Rules and Regulations For Flying A Drone:

CAAN has set some rules regarding for the operation of drones. Operators must ensure that they follow the following rules or laws issued by the Government of Nepal.

One have to first apply and receive permission from the CAAN before flying a drone.
For drones weighing more than 2 kgs that fly 400 ft or more above ground level, prior authorization is required. (Authorization from the Department of Tourism, Ministry of Home Affairs and the CAAN is required.)
In any congested area do not fly drones over or within 150 meters (492 ft) .
In an organized open-air assembly of more than 1000 persons do not fly drones over or within 150 meters.
Do not fly within 50 meters (164 ft) of any vessel, vehicle, or structure.
Operators must maintain unaided visual sight with the drones.
Airports areas must be kept clear of all drone activity.

Process for getting permit to fly a drone in Nepal:

 First of all, you should take the permission letter from the municipality of the place to fly a drone.
 Secondly, you need to take a recommendation letter from the CDO office. The CDO office will give the recommendation letter only after municipality give permission letter.
 Then the police headquarters of the places that you want to fly drone over. They will give you a security clearance letter or even provide security in those areas, if necessary.
 Then with security clearance letter and all the documents mentioned above, you should submit the documents to the CAAN.

Preview of the Clock app on macOS Ventura: Right on time

Each year, the new major version of macOS is enriched with applications from iOS. macOS Monterey won Shortcuts, macOS Ventura welcomes Weather and Clock. These two applications have been brought through Catalyst , the gateway between the iPad and the Mac. We won’t come back to the Mac version of Weather that we already presented in a previous article , or just to say that it is complete and pleasant to use.

The Clock app on macOS Ventura

If you know the iPad’s Clock app, you know the Mac’s “new” Clock app. The two versions are identical, except for a few details. The interface has been slightly adapted for the big screen and the mouse of the Mac: the tabs are not at the bottom of the window, but at the top. There is no “Edit” button in the Clocks and Alarm sections, you have to hover over the saved clocks and alarms to reveal a small cross allowing them to be deleted (or make a secondary click on the clock). A few other interface elements have been tweaked with Catalyst to look more natural on the Mac.

The application has not yet been fully translated in this first beta

As on iPad, the application icon in the Dock is dynamic, it displays the real time. On the other hand, it lacks the second hand. Maybe it will come in an upcoming beta.

Apple has made a small effort to integrate with macOS. When you activate a timer, the countdown is displayed in the menu bar.

Actions are available in Shortcuts to automatically trigger certain features based on other apps or various actions. This compatibility with Shortcuts allows an interesting integration to its workflow.

Finally, you can ask Siri to create timers and alarms. You can also go through the voice assistant to know the time in a city at the end of the world.

The Clock app on macOS Ventura is therefore no surprise and should suit you if you are satisfied with its mobile version. Apple could make it more attractive (an additional light theme, several simultaneous timers…), but this criticism is not specific to this Mac version.

CUPERTINO, Calif.—As expected, Apple has used the stage at its WWDC 2022 keynote to reveal the features and changes coming to macOS in the next major software update for the platform, macOS 13 Ventura.Ventura’s headlining feature is a new multitasking interface called Stage Manager. It’s being billed as a way to fight window clutter on a busy desktop—enter Stage Manager mode, and one of your windows floats to the center of the screen, pushing your other windows into a compressed navigation column on the left of the screen. Click a different app window on the left, and it will fly to the center of the screen, knocking the app you were using before into the navigation column.

Spotlight also gets some handy quality-of-life updates, adding the ability to Quick Look search results directly from the Spotlight window, and the ability to run Shortcuts from within Spotlight. Safari picks up the ability to share groups of tabs with other users, letting all users add and remove tabs. The browser is also adding a FIDO-compliant security technology called PassKeys, which aim to replace passwords with cryptographically generated keys that sync between devices using iCloud Keychain. Sites that support PassKeys can be opened using TouchID or FaceID.

Apple’s cross-device Continuity features were also updated. FaceTime calls can be handed off seamlessly between different Macs and iDevices, while Continuity Camera allows you to use an iPhone as a webcam (your iPhone’s LED can even be used as a makeshift ring light). Continuity Camera supports Center Stage and Portrait Mode effects, too, though presumably they will require newer iPhones with hardware that supports those features.

Other features include a redesigned System Preferences app, now called Settings, that brings it more in line with the Settings app in iOS and iPadOS. The Messages app also picks up new features Apple added to iOS 16, including the ability to edit and unsend recently sent messages, and a mark-as-unread feature for message threads.

macOS 13 Ventura will launch later this year. The first beta should be available to developers today, and a public beta will follow in the next few weeks.
