Jimmy Wales was born on 7 August 1966 in Huntsville city of Alabama, United States. His father was a store manager at a grocery shop while his mother ran a small private school along with her mother-in-law. Jimmy and his siblings went to this school for primary education and later, went to Randolph School. Then, he graduated in finance from Auburn University and went to the University of Alabama to get his masters degree in economics. At this university, he played online games and developed his interest in the internet. In 1996, he along with his two partners founded an adult website and used it’s earnings to support a free encyclopedia company called “Nupedia.”
