Professional Life and Career
As a boxer, Tony had a record of 9-3 with all but one of his fights. All his wins and losses ended in a knockout, including three technical knockouts. It was while he was in college that he earned a spot in the television show Taxi, where he played the cab driver and part-time boxer Tony Banta. Another notable role at the beginning of his career was on Who’s the Boss. He also starred in Angels in the Outfield in 1994.
In 1995, Tony starred in Hudson Street, although the show was short-lived. He then started his own show called The Tony Danza Show in 1997. He as well had a role in Family Law from 2000 to 2002. His debut in movies was in a 1980 comedy by the name of The Hollywood Knights, followed by the 1981 movie Going Ape.
Tony hosted his own talk show for one year until May 2006. He starred on Broadway in The Producer from December 2006 to March 2007. He is the one who hosted the 4th season of The Contender in 2008. His most recent appearance was in the 2018 Netflix series, The Good Cop.
As a teacher, Tony filmed A&E reality show Teach: Tony Danza in the 2009-2010 School Years. He co-instructed a 10th grade English class at Northeast High School.
