Professional Life and Career
He worked as a DJ in the early 70s and was offered a voiceover job at NBC’s ‘Today’s Show,’ when his popularity started increasing.
In the late 70s, ‘KNBC-TV’ offered him the job of a weatherman, which he gladly accepted.
Pat hosted two game show pilots in 1980 (‘Press Your Luck’ for Ralph Edwards, and ‘Puzzlers’ for Mark Goodson).
In 1981, the management asked Pat to host the show, ‘Wheel of Fortune.’ The decision was howeve4r citizen by many within the network. The experience he had gained in 1980 helped him get ‘Wheel of Fortune.’
For six years since 1983, He started hosting the show both daytime and evening versions. He then ventured with the prime time and left the daytime version.
After a short while in the network, he started hosting other programs, including a late-night talk show for ‘CBS,’ ‘Larry King Life,’ ‘Dream House,’ and ‘Just Men.’
In the soap opera ‘Days of our Lives,’ he appeared as Kevin Hathway, in 1983. He also appeared in the popular kid’s cartoon show ‘Rugrats.’
He made an appearance in the 1982 comedy film ‘Airplane II: The Sequel,’ as a newscaster.
In the year 2001, he appeared on the sitcom ‘The King of Queens.’
