Matt starred in the TV drama ‘TV 101’ in 1988.
In 1991, he recurred roles in the sitcoms ‘Married… with Children’ and its spin-off ‘Top of the Heap.’
In 1992, he featured in ‘Vinnie and Bobby.’
He played Joey Tribbiani in the sitcom ‘Friends’ from 1994 to 2004. He then went on to play this character in its spin-off ‘Joey’ as well. He also made an appearance in the films ‘All the Queen’s Men,’ ‘Ed,’ ‘Lookin’ Italian,’ ‘Lost in Space,’ ‘Charlie’s Angels,’ and ‘Charlie’s Angels: Full Throttle’ during this time.
