Jeff is well known for his “You might be a redneck” one-liners.

Jeff Foxworthy was born on September 5th, 1958, to Jimmy Abstance and Carole Linda Foxworthy in Atlanta, Georgia, United States. He was enrolled at Hapeville High School and later joined Georgia Tech in Atlanta, where he dropped out. After dropping out, Jeff worked alongside his father at IBM for some time before winning the Great South-eastern Laugh-Off at Atlanta’s Punch line Comedy Club in 1984.
This fete propelled Jeff into stand up comedy where he was well received and even won an award for “Best Stand-Up Comic” at the American Comedy Awards in 1991. In total, throughout his career, Jeff Foxworthy has released six comedy as well as publishing over ten books. In addition, Jeff has also hosted the quiz show Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader.

Soon after dropping out of college, Jeff Foxworthy began working at IBM in mainframe computer maintenance. It was while at IBM that Jeff realized that he had a talent in comedy as he found it pleasurable to make his co-workers laugh. At the nudging of his co-workers, Foxworthy entered a “laugh of the contest” organized by the Atlanta Punchline comedy club in 1984 and won.
This was a major turning point for Jeff as he decided to quit his job in order to focus on comedy. Jeff managed to come up with a unique comedic style during his career that making him one of the best within the industry. In 1993, Foxworthy released an album “You Might Be A Redneck If which was a well-received ranking at No. 38 on the Billboard 200 chart.
Jeff’s career as a media personality saw him host a weekly countdown show named after him from 1999 to 2009. Jeff formed a comedy troupe known as Blue Collar Comedy Tour, which toured the United States and earned popularity. As a result, Jeff created the TV series Blue Collar TV for the WB network, which ran from 2004 to 2006 and released three DVD movies. The show was really successful and ran for over ten years. He later formed a comedy troupe called Blue Collar Comedy Tour. The group traveled and performed all over the U.S, and they became hugely popular.
