Professional Life and Career

The name Chamillionaire is a short form of “chameleon,” and “millionaire” Seriki and rapper Paul Wall met Michael “5000” Watts, a popular mixtape DJ from northern Houston whom they proposed to do promotions for Watts’s company Swish house. Later they came to his studio and convinced him to allow them to freestyle on an intro to Watts’s radio show on Houston hip-hop radio station KBXX-FM.

Watts enjoyed the freestyle so much that he put the verses on one of his mixtapes. After a shot, while the two rappers appeared on several of Watts’s mixtapes, and became permanent members of Swishahouse.

Chamillionaire and Paul Wall, later on, began their own group, The Color Changin’ Click.

In 2002, they collaborated for the album Get Ya Mind Correct. The album was a great success, recording over 150,000 sales. In the same year, the album was nominated for the independent album of the year by the Source magazine.

He serves as the CEO of Chamillitary Entertainment at the moment. Until the group split in 2005, Chamillionaire was also the founder and an original member of the Color Changin’ Click.

In early 2011, after he left Universal Records, he could not release his third album, Venom. In March 2012, his first independent extended play Ammunition, was released. It was his first major release since he left the label.

On February 17, 2013, he released another EP, Elevate. This was going to be one of several to be released before his third studio album. On July 23, 2013, he released his third EP Reignfall.

His third studio album was referred to as Poison. In early 2015, he joined Los Angeles-based venture capital firm Upfront Ventures
