Professional Life and Career

In the 2007 NFL Draft, Johnson was selected by the Detroit Lions. After that, he attended the NFL Rookie Premier of Reebok in Los Angeles. He signed a contract with the Detroit Lions for six years in August 2007. He played for that team all through his professional career.  In that year’s season, Calvin made 15.8 yards with 48 catches.

In the 2009 season, he finished with five touchdowns, 67 receptions, and 984 yards. This was after he missed the 2008 Pro Bowl. His star was still shinning, and in the 2011 season, he made 77 receptions for 12 touchdowns and 1,120 yards.

Calvin Johnson signed an eight-year extension contract with the Detroit Lions in 2012. By that time, there was nothing to stop him, and he was at the peak of his career. He went ahead and broke Jerry Rice’s record of receiving yards in a single season. He finished with a record of 1,964 receiving Yards with five touchdowns. This happened in the 2012 season. He also caught 14 out of 16 passes in a game against the Dallas Cowboys in October 2013.

Calvin became the fastest player in the history of NFL in November 2014 after reaching 10,000 receiving yards. He finished the 2015 season with a record of 1214 yards and 88 receptions. In his entire career, Calvin achieved 11,619 receiving yards with a total of 83 touchdowns.
