Professional Life and Career
Maxine started her career in 1973 as chief deputy to City Councilman. She then, after three years, entered the California State Assembly. She was in 1990 elected to a 29th Congressional district, as US representative; the second time as 35th in 1992 and again as 43rd in 2012.
In 1994, she gained so much popularity when she debated with Peter King. She, in 1997-1998, became chairperson of the Congressional Black Caucus. After the retirement of Barney Frank in 2012, She became the House Financial Services Committee member. She has worked with Barack Obama, President Donald Trump, George W. Bush, and other presidents and top-ranked politicians and leaders.
