Professional Life and Career
After graduating from the university, Gayle moved to Kansas, where she got a job at WDAF-TV as a weekend editor. She held that position in that station until1981. She was then hired as a news anchor for WFBS in Connecticut. She worked there for 18 years.
She was the co-host of the show called Cover to Cover together with Robin Wagner. The show aired on NCB for thirteen weeks. Gayle thought of hosting her own show in 1997. The show was called The Gayle King Show. The show received very low ratings, and it was canceled after only one season.
She landed a job as an editor for O, The Oprah Magazine, in 1999. She was also working as a correspondent for Good Morning America as well as the Oprah Winfrey Show. King started her own radio show in September 2006. The show was called The Gayle King Show, and it was being aired on XM Satellite Radio.
